I think I’ve got it.

I’ve found my special purpose! At least when it comes to the space I hope to take up in search engines. As far as this particular blog, though? This will remain random. A personal, unorganized organizer, a place to document that which would otherwise be forgotten, in addition to its accessible nature. As far as keeping it public? The possibility of feedback. And if I happen not to ever get any traffic, then I guess I won’t have to log in, will I?

Name this vegetable!

So, along with my other endeavors to attempt to sew the holes of my burned pockets, I’m also thinking about finding out if I have the perseverance it takes to bring in a little bit of extra money by blogging, as well as working on my grammar, punctuation, and editing skill. I’m probably a little too excited about the potential bonuses. Whatevs. Just stay quiet and be ready to get scammed!

To start off, I’ve got to catch up with technology. I’m way behind the times. I didn’t even have a flickr account until now. I set up an account and am hoping that it will allow for external linking so that I can maximize my use of bandwith usage based on wherever I end up hosting. So, that funky vegetable aligned with right justification? That’s a test. The link it goes to are flickr’s usage guidelines, which turned out to be pretty standard; nothing I can argue with for a free service. I do, however, wish that there was an easier way to find the direct image location instead of having to pull it out of the HTML code. My HTML days are way over.

The next, and certainly most important, thing that I’ve got to learn about is how to direct traffic. Everyone is searching for something, and key words shouldn’t be a problem, so I’m not entirely worried about content. It’s just that there isn’t much of a point in providing information, intended to share, when you don’t have any friends. FYI, I’m going to go ahead and use the word “traffic” interchangeably with the word “friends,” that way, when I say I have no friends, it will really mean I have no traffic.

I’ve begun a limited amount of research tonight, and the first set of questions I want to ask myself are about RSS syndication, autoblogging, or use of the content of others. If I decided to use such content, I’d get permission as well as cite my sources. I did pass the sixth grade, you know. My questions are not an issue of morality or plagiaristic tendencies, they’re more about where to find quality, aka RELIABLE, sources, the effect of duplicate content on search engines, the usage of my time versus the benefit of the outcome, etc. The more I think about it, though, the more I believe that the answers will vary.

It’s too bad that I have yet to start writing before I’m ready for bed, not that I’ve made more than two contributions… But yeah, seriously. I would love to start on the first seriously, serious blog right NOW, as I’ve already got some ideas for it, but I’m pretty sure I might fall over if I stay up any longer. Besides, I’ll probably stay up and edit the crap out of this, anyway. Adding commas where they don’t belong, moving others to incorrect places, and what have you.

On that note, before I forget, my super cute, light powered, head bobbing, frog-like Japanese toy (with friend) video must be watched. It’s exciting, but don’t take my word for it.
